#WriteMentor is a new mentorship program for pre-agented MG and YA authors. In its first year, they received far more submissions than they expected, and asked me to step in as a middle grade mentor!

My mentee Sasha Thomas has worked incredibly hard on revising her MG adventure THE SLUG QUEEN. I loved her manuscript from the moment I read the title. It had everything I was hoping for: a smart, sympathetic heroine who goes on a grand adventure, inventive world-building, magical creatures, positive #OwnVoices representation, and a voice that shows the reader they are in the hands of an incredibly gifted storyteller.

After months of revisions, my Sasha’s entry is now live on the #WriteMentor website. I am certain that Sasha has a bright future ahead of her as a writer. It’s been my pleasure working with her!
